The pastoral work and all its activities are aimed at the integral growth of people. We want to form free, just and happy people, offering them valid tools to develop a critical spirit and their vocation from a Gospel perspective. We also aim to accompany each member of the educational community in order to awaken a commitment to the reality in which we live and to encourage a compassionate look towards those most in need.
This transmission is carried out both implicitly and explicitly: the formation in rows in the courtyard, the going up and down the corridors, the greetings at all times, the informal chats and the way we treat each other. All of this is impregnated with finesse in language and gestures, because“we are polite, because we intend to educate“. The integration of values is reinforced through morning prayer, the activities of coras calm, oratorio, growing up, godly play, mar adentro, and catechesis, as well as formation in interiority.
The spiritual dimension is enhanced through prayer, reflection and participation in religious events, seeking to ensure that the living of values is present in the behaviour and actions of the educators and staff of the school. We consider coherence between what we teach and the way we relate to the world to be essential, so that education transcends the classroom.
Community service programmes, such as the gran recapte, visits to nursing homes, collaboration in soup kitchens, choral singing in children’s hospitals and solidarity campaigns, are a fundamental part of our mission. These projects not only help those who receive them, but also develop socio-emotional skills in the participants, strengthening their interiority and capacity for service. In addition, we encourage circles of dialogue and reflection, such as the offshore encounters, to cultivate empathy and connection among community members.
We welcome all people, regardless of their confession or whether they have none. Together we learn and are enriched, while openly discussing the Gospel way of life and the values handed down by Jesus of Nazareth. All this is complemented by training in free time, which reinforces our mission to educate in an integral and human way.
From the pastoral, we work in open collaboration with the Pastoral of the Church of Barcelona, offering this proposal as a manifestation of God’s love and opening the door to all members of the educational community, each one contributing according to their personal search and their possibilities.
