Our school opted for the Dual Baccalaureate more than ten years ago. It was one of the first five schools in Catalonia to integrate this programme. Today there are more than 1000 schools throughout Spain that have joined Académica.
Created and developed by Academica Corporation, the Dual Diploma® is the official programme for the international validation of high school diplomas that allows students to obtain two simultaneous qualifications: their own country’s diploma and the American High School Diploma.
Dual Diploma® students only have to take 6 subjects to obtain the American qualification. The international agreements reached by Académica and the educational excellence of the programme allow students to obtain the maximum possible validation: 75% of the 24 credits necessary to obtain the American High School Diploma.
Of these 6 subjects, 4 are from the compulsory curriculum and 2 from the elective curriculum, which allows students to take subjects of great interest that are not in the European curriculum and offer a plus of motivation to the student by expanding their vocabulary in subjects that they would not work in English: Digital Photography, Criminology, Psychology…
At the end of their studies, Dual Diploma® students achieve exactly the same qualification as American students at the end of High School, which is recognised in all states and at all universities in the world.
To carry out these studies, the students not only have a tutor in the USA but also a tutor at the school who accompanies and directs the work in person.
